She died on 16 October 1789, in Colleton, Charleston, South Carolina, United States, at the age of 63, and was buried in Colleton, South Carolina, United States.

1733 · Colonists Arrive in Charleston

On January 13, 1733, James Oglethorpe and around 130 colonists arrive in Charleston. Even though they land here, they are to go down to Georgia and establish it as a colony.
