1945 · Freedoms of the Air

The primary goal of  the Chicago Convention was to establish the International Civil Aviation Organization. This organization establishes the rules of airspace, aircraft registration and safety, and details the rights of the signatories in relation to air travel. The Convention has since been revised eight times.

1954 · Johnson Products Company opens

Johnson Products Company was formed by George E. Johnson, Sr and it’s best known for hair care and cosmetic products for African American consumers. The company was a longtime sponsor of the TV dance show Soul Train until March 25, 2006. The company was bought by Procter & Gamble in 2004 and in March 2009, an African-American investment firm bought the company from P&G to reestablish its position as an African-American-owned company.
