Maria Antonia Lefarth was born on 9 April 1902, in Medebach, Brilon, Westphalia, Prussia, Germany. She married Peter Gustav Frankenstein in 1925, in Germany. They were the parents of at least 1 daughter. She died on 8 July 1979, in her hometown, at the age of 77.

Viscount Montague, of Cowdray, Sussex, who succeeded to the title as second viscount, was christened Anthony Maria Browne.
