When Jose Maximiliano Couret Irizar was born on 18 June 1895, in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico, his father, Héctor Ludovico Couret Carrillo, was 29 and his mother, Laura Irizar Monzón, was 23. He married Maria Teresa Cuén Beltrán on 14 May 1928, in Sinaloa, Mexico. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 1 daughter. He died on 16 October 1942, in Miguel Hidalgo, Mexico City, Mexico, at the age of 47.

1896 · The Yaqui Uprising

The Yaqui Uprising was a conflict that was fought between the residents of Sonora and Arizona over several days. It started as an agreement of the Native Americans, in the state of Sonora, and Lauro Aguirre to start by capturing the customs house in Nogales. This confrontation was one of the last battles during the American Indian Wars. Several people were killed and wounded but was a win in the Revolution of Mexico.


Constitution changed to allow for six-year presidential term.


Díaz states his intention of not seeking reelection in interview. Francisco I. Madero publishes The Presidential Succession of 1910 .
