When Egon Erwin Kisch was born on 29 April 1885, in Prague, Bohemia, Austria, his father, Hermann Kisch, was 47 and his mother, Ernestine Kuh, was 23. He married Gisela Lyner in 1938. He died on 31 March 1948, in his hometown, at the age of 62.
