He married Elizabeth Maud McFarlane on 14 September 1904, in Peterborough, Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. He lived in Dufferin, Manitoba, Canada in 1881. He died on 19 May 1948, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, at the age of 72, and was buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada.
