Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar FRS was born on 19 October 1910, in Lahore, Punjab, India as the son of Subrahmanya Ayyar Chandrasekhara and Sita Balakrishnan. He married Lalithamaal Doraiswamy in September 1936, in Madras, India. He immigrated to Laredo, Webb, Texas, United States in 1943 and lived in United Kingdom in 1995. He died on 21 August 1995, in Chicago, Cook, Illinois, United States, at the age of 84, and was buried in Arlington Heights Cemetery, Arlington Heights, Cook, Illinois, United States.
