He married Koloti Vi in January 1947, in Pangai, Ha'apai, Tonga. They were the parents of at least 1 son and 4 daughters. He died on 15 September 2004, in Henderson, Auckland, New Zealand, at the age of 78, and was buried in Mangere, New Zealand.
