When John Kwofie was born in 1930, in Cape Coast Metropolitan, Central, Ghana, his father, John Nana Kwofie, was 26 and his mother, Mena Kesewa, was 22. He died in 2000, in Kumasi, Kumasi Metropolitan, Ashanti, Ghana, at the age of 70.

    Rawlings stages second coup. Provisional National Defence Council established with Rawlings as chairman.
