When Andreas Ulmer was born on 28 November 1888, in Gassendorf, Bezirk Drohobycz, Galicia, Austria, his father, Andreas “Andrew” Ulmer, was 27 and his mother, Katherine Margaret Hollinger, was 21. He married Margaret Schutz in 1923, in Stony Plain, Parkland County, Alberta, Canada. They were the parents of at least 2 daughters. He immigrated to Canada in 1895 and lived in Alberta, Northwest Territories, Canada in 1901 and Edmonton, Alberta, Canada for about 20 years. He died in 1941, at the age of 53, and was buried in Stony Plain, Parkland County, Alberta, Canada.
