When Abraham Montayne was born on 7 October 1770, his father, Edward Eide Montanye, was 38 and his mother, Elisabeth Wintersteen, was 36. He married Sophia Vosseller on 2 January 1792, in Oldwick, Hunterdon, New Jersey, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 3 daughters. He died on 12 May 1848, at the age of 77.
