When 'Ana Latu was born about 1802, in Ha'apai, Tonga, her father, Tongamatamoana, was 5 and her mother, Huamala Hina, was 10. She married Mosese Mafitangata Makauito'a in Fakakakai, Ha'apai, Tonga. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 4 daughters. She died about 1867, in her hometown, at the age of 67, and was buried in Ha'apai, Tonga.
