Name Meaning

Spanish and Portuguese: evidently based on Latin ferrum ‘iron’, probably an unattested derivative, ferraceus ‘iron’, ‘inflexible’. It is not clear if it is a nickname or a medieval personal name. The cradle of this name (variant Ferràs, Spanish Herraz) is Catalonia.
