He married Fannie Hawkins on 9 December 1891, in Osage, Mitchell, Iowa, United States. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 3 daughters. He lived in School District 30, Sheridan, Montana, United States in 1920 and Outlook, Sheridan, Montana, United States in 1930. He died on 5 May 1932, in Plentywood, Sheridan, Montana, United States, at the age of 70, and was buried in Outlook, Sheridan, Montana, United States.

1881 · The Assassination of James Garfield

Garfield was shot twice by Charles J. Guitea at Railroad Station in Washington, D.C. on July 2, 1881. After eleven weeks of intensive and other care Garfield died in Elberon, New Jersey, the second of four presidents to be assassinated, following Abraham Lincoln.
