She married James Crystal Jones on 26 November 1876, in Otoe, Nebraska, United States. She lived in Rock Creek Township, Otoe, Nebraska, United States in 1880 and Medford, Jackson, Oregon, United States for about 20 years. She died on 8 August 1922, at the age of 66, and was buried in Jacksonville, Jackson, Oregon, United States.

The Capitol was located in Iowa City until the 1st General Assembly of Iowa recognized that the Capitol should be moved farther west than Iowa City. Land was found two miles from the Des Moines River to start construction of the new building. Today the Capitol building still stands on its original plot.
