He married Emily Bras on 15 May 1841, in Toolesboro, Louisa, Iowa, United States. They were the parents of at least 2 sons. He lived in Jefferson Township, Louisa, Iowa, United States in 1850. He died on 28 July 1852, in Louisa, Iowa, United States, at the age of 33, and was buried in Mallory Cemetery, Toolesboro, Louisa, Iowa, United States.

1819 · Panic! of 1819

With the Aftermath of the Napoleonic Wars the global market for trade was down. During this time, America had its first financial crisis and it lasted for only two years. 

1820 · Making States Equal

The Missouri Compromise helped provide the entrance of Maine as a free state and Missouri as a slave state into the United States. As part of the compromise, slavery was prohibited north of the 36°30′ parallel, excluding Missouri.

1830 · The Second Great Awakening

Being a second spiritual and religious awakening, like the First Great Awakening, many Churches began to spring up from other denominations. Many people began to rapidly join the Baptist and Methodist congregations. Many converts to these religions believed that the Awakening was the precursor of a new millennial age.
