Harvey Davenport was born on 30 November 1797, in Campbell, Virginia, United States as the son of Davenport and Mrs Davenport. He married Martha Patsy Canaday on 17 October 1820, in Casey, Kentucky, United States. He died before 25 March 1822, at the age of 24.

The First capital was temporary in New York City but by the second term of George Washington the Capital moved to Philadelphia for the following 10 years. Ultimately during the Presidency of John Adams, the Capital found a permanent home in the District of Columbia.

The Monumental Church was built between 1812-1814 on the sight where the Richmond Theatre fire had taken place. It is a monument to those that died in the fire.
