1890 · The Sherman Antitrust Act

Age 4

This Act tried to prevent the raising of prices by restricting trade. The purpose of the Act was to preserve a competitive marketplace to protect consumers from abuse.
1890 · Woman's Suffrage

Age 4

An organization formed in favor of women's suffrages. By combining the National Woman Suffrage Association and the American Woman Suffrage Association, the NAWSA eventually increased in membership up to two million people. It is still one of the largest voluntary organizations in the nation today and held a major role in passing the Nineteenth Amendment.
1892 · The Masonic Temple Building

The Masonic Temple Building was a skyscraper built in Chicago and from 1895 to 1920 it was the tallest building in Chicago. The building featured a central court surrounded by shops on nine floors. On top of the shops there were meeting rooms that were also used as theaters. In 1939 the Masonic Temple was demolished, and a Walgreens drug store was erected in its place. 

Name Meaning

Irish: Anglo-Norman French patronymic from the personal name Gerald ( see Garrett ). The name was formed by the addition of the Anglo-Norman French prefix fi(t)z ‘son of’ (Latin filius) to the personal name. The Gaelicized form Mac Gearailt is common in the Gaelic-speaking areas of West Kerry.
