1875 · A Treaty with Hawaii

Age 1

In the Mid 1870s, The United States sought out the Kingdom of Hawaii to make a free trade agreement. The Treaty gave the Hawaiians access to the United States agricultural markets and it gave the United States a part of land which later became Pearl Harbor.
1877 · First National Strike in U.S. Begins In Pittsburgh Against Pennsylvania Railroad

Coming out of an economic crisis, everyone was worried when cuts started happening in the railroad. They went on what would the great railroad strike of 1877.
1905 · The Movie Theater

Age 31

The world’s first movie theater was located in Pittsburgh. It was referred to as a nickelodeon as at the time it only cost 5 cents to get in. 

Name Meaning

German and Jewish (Ashkenazic): habitational name from any of several places named Schwalbach, of which there are examples near Wetzlar, Saarlouis, and Wiesbaden (now Bad Schwalbach).
