    After a long campaign by the Texas Women's Political Caucus and other activist groups, the Texas Equal Rights Amendment was successfully added to the state constitution.

    Age 11

    Dedicated on November 17-21, 1980 by President Spencer W. Kimball, the Seattle Washington Temple for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was the first temple built in the Pacific Northwest and in Washington. It is also only one of five temples where the angel Moroni is holding the gold plates.

    Name Meaning

    Irish: possibly an altered form of de la Hyde (see Hyde ), which was a prominent surname in Leinster from medieval times onward. Compare Dollahite .

    History: Francis Dollahide, born c. 1650–60 in County Dublin, Ireland, was the ancestor of Americans with the surname Dollahide, Dollahite, and Dollarhide. In 1680 he was transported to MD for some youthful misdemeanor. He appears to have been an educated man and rose to be an important landowner and politician, serving in the Lower House of the MD legislature as an elected representative for Baltimore County from c. 1705 to 1721.
