He married Lucy Lorena Wiggins in 1921, in McDowell, West Virginia, United States. They were the parents of at least 3 sons. He lived in Clear Fork District, Tazewell, Virginia, United States in 1940 and Pin Hook, Tazewell, Virginia, United States in 1950. He registered for military service in 1919. He died on 17 December 1980, at the age of 88, and was buried in Maple Hill Cemetery, Tazewell, Virginia, United States.
