He lived in Henry, Henry, Tennessee, United States in 1850 and Cherokee, North Carolina, United States in 1860. He died on 4 December 1864, in Monroe, Tennessee, United States, at the age of 37.

1830 · The Second Great Awakening

Being a second spiritual and religious awakening, like the First Great Awakening, many Churches began to spring up from other denominations. Many people began to rapidly join the Baptist and Methodist congregations. Many converts to these religions believed that the Awakening was the precursor of a new millennial age.

1830 · Trail of Tears

In the 1830's, President Jackson called for all the Native Americans to be forced off their own land. As the Cherokee were forced out of North Carolina many of them hid in the mountains of North Carolina.
