When William Claude Ellis Perry was born on 8 November 1878, in Bracebridge, Muskoka, Ontario, Canada, his father, Robert Peter Davy Perry, was 29 and his mother, Urinia Ellis, was 20. He married Betty Hamilton on 13 January 1916, in Bracebridge, Muskoka, Ontario, Canada. He immigrated to Port Huron, St. Clair, Michigan, United States in 1909. He died on 13 July 1916, in France, at the age of 37, and was buried in France.

1881 · The Assassination of James Garfield

Garfield was shot twice by Charles J. Guitea at Railroad Station in Washington, D.C. on July 2, 1881. After eleven weeks of intensive and other care Garfield died in Elberon, New Jersey, the second of four presidents to be assassinated, following Abraham Lincoln.
