He died on 28 February 1934, at the age of 66, and was buried in Riegelsville Union Cemetery, Riegelsville, Bucks, Pennsylvania, United States.

After a special session of Congress, the Articles of Impeachment were approved by the House and then the Senate. Making Andrew Johnson the first President to be Impeached.
