Michael Dively was born on 15 October 1787, in Berlin, Somerset, Pennsylvania, United States as the son of Martin Dively and Anna Maria Fletcher. He married Julianna Schwartz on 28 April 1811, in Berlin, Somerset, Pennsylvania, United States. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 8 daughters. He died on 10 July 1840, in Salisbury, Somerset, Pennsylvania, United States, at the age of 52, and was buried in Old Salisbury Cemetery, Salisbury, Somerset, Pennsylvania, United States.
