He married Pelenaise 'Aho Loka in Fata'ulua, Niuafoʻou, Tonga. They were the parents of at least 14 sons and 2 daughters. He died on 14 November 1954, in his hometown, at the age of 64, and was buried in Fata'ulua, Niuafoʻou, Tonga.
