He married Lois Ann Johnson on 23 April 1781, in Southbury, New Haven, Connecticut, United States. They were the parents of at least 8 sons and 6 daughters. He lived in Herkimer, Montgomery, New York, United States in 1790 and Norway, Herkimer, New York, United States in 1800. He died on 19 February 1846, in Ellery, Chautauqua, New York, United States, at the age of 93, and was buried in Ellery, Chautauqua, New York, United States.
