"During the six-year Revolutionary war, more of the fights took place in New Jersey than any other colony. Over 296 engagements between opposing forces were recorded. One of the largest conflicts of the entire war took place between Morristown and Middlebrook, referred to as the ""Ten Crucial Days"" and remembered by the famous phrase ""the times that try men's souls"". The revolution won some of their most desperately needed victories during this time."

The First Presidential election was held in the newly created United States of America. Under the Articles of Confederation, the executive branch of the country was not set up for an individual to help lead the nation. So, under the United States Constitution they position was put in. Because of his prominent roles during the Revolutionary War, George Washington was voted in unanimously as the First President of the United States.

Name Meaning

Altered form of Polish Zabrzyski (topographic name for someone who lived ‘beyond the birch tree’, from Polish za ‘beyond’ + brzezie (brzoza) ‘birch tree’) or Zabrzeski (habitational name from a place called Zabrzeg, named with za ‘beyond’ + brzeg ‘bank’).
