When Asaph Shadley was born on 21 June 1797, in Frederick, Maryland, United States, his father, Johann Christian SCHADLA Jr, was 36 and his mother, Docia Oglesby, was 28. He married Margaret Peoples on 21 December 1864, in Hardin, Ohio, United States. They were the parents of at least 1 daughter. He lived in Marion Township, Hardin, Ohio, United States in 1860. He died on 8 December 1871, in Shadley Cemetery, McGuffey, Marion Township, Hardin, Ohio, United States, at the age of 74, and was buried in Shadley Cemetery, McGuffey, Marion Township, Hardin, Ohio, United States.

1800 · Movement to Washington D.C.

While the growth of the new nation was exponential, the United States didn’t have permanent location to house the Government. The First capital was temporary in New York City but by the second term of George Washington the Capital moved to Philadelphia for the following 10 years. Ultimately during the Presidency of John Adams, the Capital found a permanent home in the District of Columbia.
