When Nils Andersen was born about 1746, in Tosterup, Kristianstad, Sweden, his father, Ander Nilsson, was 33 and his mother, Signe Matsdotter, was 31. He married Bereta Andersdotter on 8 November 1772. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 3 daughters. He died from 1806 to 1818, in his hometown, at the age of 72.
