When Tu'ilape Fatafehi was born on 21 May 1858, in Pangai, Ha'apai, Tonga, his father, Fatafehi, was 36 and his mother, Meleane Mafile’o, was 33. He died in 1927, in his hometown, at the age of 69, and was buried in Pangai, Ha'apai, Tonga.
