She immigrated to Canada in 1905 and lived in Vær, Vær, Voer, Skanderborg, Denmark in 1906 and Manitoba, Canada in 1911. She died on 3 October 1940, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, at the age of 78, and was buried in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
