Brief Life History of Caroline

MRS. CAROLINE W. APAKA - Mrs. Caroline Watson Apaka, 71 years old, died at her home in Kaneohe at 9:15: o'clock this morning. Funeral services will be held in Kaneohe at noon tomorrow. Burial will be in the Kapalei cemetery. Mrs. Apaka is survived by two sisters, Mrs. P. D. Kellett, wife of the district magistrate in Kaneohe and Mrs. Mary Curnel; three brothers, Roland, George and Thomas Watson; four daughters Miss Caroline Luke, Miss Mary Ann Yim, Mrs. Wah Poon Tam and Mrs. Ching Ming; two sons, Ah Hoon Yim, who is in China, and Amina Yim You, 14 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. 1863 · The Battle at Gettysburg

The Battle of Gettysburg involved the largest number of casualties of the entire Civil war and is often described as the war's turning point. Between 46,000 and 51,000 soldiers lost their lives during the three-day Battle. To honor the fallen soldiers, President Abraham Lincoln read his historic Gettysburg Address and helped those listening by redefining the purpose of the war.
