When David Eschler was born on 21 June 1753, in Oberwil im Simmental, Bern, Switzerland, his father, Michael Eschler, was 33 and his mother, Sarah Bühler, was 41. He died on 25 April 1764, in his hometown, at the age of 10, and was buried in Oberwil im Simmental, Bern, Switzerland.
