When Anders Arnasson was born on 30 June 1801, in Reynir, Vestur-Skaftafellssýsla, Suðurland, Iceland, his father, Arni Loftsson, was 32 and his mother, Kristin Eyjolfsdottir, was 39. He married Gudrid Gudmundsson on 20 October 1831. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 8 daughters. He died on 31 October 1870, at the age of 69.
