When Isaïe Bessette was born on 20 March 1837, in Sainte-Marie-de-Monnoir, Rouville, Quebec, Canada, his father, Isaac Bessette, was 30 and his mother, Clotilde Foisy, was 23. He married Salomée Cadoret on 8 August 1864, in Missisquoi, Quebec, Canada. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 3 daughters. He died on 6 October 1920, in Richford, Franklin, Vermont, United States, at the age of 83, and was buried in All Saints Catholic Cemetery, Richford, Franklin, Vermont, United States.
