David MacWilliam was born about 1760, in Inverness-shire, Scotland as the son of Duncan McWilliam and Christin Downie. He married Theresa " Tracy" Muttart on 12 February 1784, in Tryon, Prince, Prince Edward Island, Canada. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 1 daughter. He died on 22 October 1818, in Tryon, Prince, Prince Edward Island, Canada, at the age of 59, and was buried in Tryon, Prince, Prince Edward Island, Canada.
