She died on 24 September 1944, in Gilman City, Harrison, Missouri, United States, at the age of 83, and was buried in Christian Union Cemetery, Gilman City, Harrison, Missouri, United States.

1885 · The First Skyscraper
The Home Insurance Building is considered to be the first skyscraper in the world. It was supported both inside and outside by steel and metal that were deemed fireproof and also it was reinforced with concrete. It originally had ten stories but in 1891 two more were added.

English and Scottish: from Maurice, an Old French personal name introduced to Britain by the Normans. It is derived from Latin Mauritius, a derivative of Maurus (see Moore ). This was the name of several early Christian saints. In some cases it may be a nickname of the same derivation for someone with a swarthy complexion.
