Gustav Bergman was born on 18 April 1772, in Rinkaby, Örebro, Sweden as the son of Sven Gabriel Bergman and Christina Carlsson. He married Christina Larsdotter on 11 June 1794, in Rinkaby, Örebro, Sweden. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 1 daughter. He died on 27 April 1818, in Karlskoga, Örebro, Sweden, at the age of 46.
