Frederick Hill was born on 13 April 1745, in Helmscherode, Bad Gandersheim, Gandersheim, Brunswick, Germany. He married Elizabeth Defibaugh on 1 April 1779, in Bedford, Bedford, Pennsylvania, United States. They were the parents of at least 10 sons and 2 daughters. He registered for military service in 1831. He died on 2 May 1838, in Providence Twp, Bedford, Pennsylvania, United States, at the age of 93, and was buried in Schellsburg Cemetery, Schellsburg, Bedford, Pennsylvania, United States.
