When Catharine McPHERSON was born in January 1808, in Thorold, Welland, Ontario, Canada, her father, Frederick McPherson, was 17 and her mother, Elizabeth Felker, was 16. She married James Mccoppen before 1851. They were the parents of at least 2 daughters. She died on 27 March 1890, in her hometown, at the age of 82.

Age 75

In 1883, there was a mining boom in Northern Ontario when mineral deposits were found near Sudbury. Thomas Flanagan was the blacksmith for the Canadian Pacific Railway that noticed the deposits in the river.
