When Gulbrand Biørnsen was born about 1664, in Flesberg, Buskerud, Norway, his father, Biørn Siulsen, was 34 and his mother, Ragnild Halvorsdtr., was 31. He married Marit Gunnuldsdtr. in 1687, in Flesberg, Buskerud, Norway. They were the parents of at least 6 sons. He died in 1704, in his hometown, at the age of 41, and was buried in Flesberg, Buskerud, Norway.
