When Sophronia Olmsted was born about 1827, in Elizabethtown-Kitley, Leeds and Grenville, Ontario, Canada, her father, Noah Olmstead, was 29 and her mother, Sarah Wallace, was 26. She married Johnston Hutton on 5 December 1845, in Tay Valley Township, Lanark, Ontario, Canada. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 4 daughters. She died about 7 March 1871, in Smiths Falls, Lanark, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 45.
