When Martha Pulis was born on 19 November 1771, in Bergen, New Jersey, United States, her father, Hendrick Pulisvelt, was 33 and her mother, Cornelia Blanch, was 26. She married William Winter III in August 1788, in Franklin Township, Bergen, New Jersey, United States. They were the parents of at least 1 son and 4 daughters. She died on 3 September 1827, in her hometown, at the age of 55, and was buried in Ponds Cemetery, Oakland, Bergen, New Jersey, United States.

1786 · Shays' Rebellion

Caused by war veteran Daniel Shays, Shays' Rebellion was to protest economic and civil rights injustices that he and other farmers were seeing after the Revolutionary War. Because of the Rebellion it opened the eyes of the governing officials that the Articles of Confederation needed a reform. The Rebellion served as a guardrail when helping reform the United States Constitution.
