When William Kelley was born on 20 May 1828, in Glasgow, Barren, Kentucky, United States, his father, Daniel W Kelley, was 30 and his mother, Rachel Harris, was 19. He married Eliza Jane Nugent on 10 February 1848, in Orange, Indiana, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 2 daughters. He lived in Liberty Township, Putnam, Missouri, United States in 1870 and New Albany Circuit, Floyd, Indiana, United States in 1880. He died on 26 February 1906, in Unionville, Putnam, Missouri, United States, at the age of 77, and was buried in Shipley Cemetery, Liberty Township, Putnam, Missouri, United States.
