When Isaac Newton King was born on 21 August 1824, in Winthrop, Kennebec, Maine, United States, his father, Isaac Brainard King, was 32 and his mother, Martha Estey, was 34. He married Lavinia Weston Thomas on 25 June 1846. They were the parents of at least 1 daughter. He lived in California, United States in 1870 and Kern, California, United States in 1880. He died on 23 May 1908, in Bakersfield, Kern, California, United States, at the age of 83, and was buried in Union Cemetery, Bakersfield, Kern, California, United States.

1825 · The Crimes Act

The Crimes Act was made to provide a clearer punishment of certain crimes against the United States. Part of it includes: Changing the maximum sentence of imprisonment to be increased from seven to ten years and changing the maximum fine from $5,000 to $10,000.

1832 · Calais Branch is Chartered

The State of Maine chartered the Calais Railway in 1832, one of the first railway charters to be granted by the state. Construction was very long, as the project was reorganized, abandoned, transferred to other companies, and extended several times. It was finally completed in 1898.
