When Experience Ackley was born on 8 October 1745, in Haddam, Middlesex, Connecticut, United States, her father, Benjamin Ackley, was 39 and her mother, Experience Crippen, was 44. She married Asahel Brainerd on 30 March 1763, in East Haddam, Middlesex, Connecticut, United States. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 6 daughters. She died on 17 January 1815, in Litchfield, Nichols, Tioga, New York, United States, at the age of 69.

1781 · British Forces Capture Fort Griswold

The capture of Fort Griswold was the final act of treason that Benedict Arnold committed. This would be a British victory. On the American side 85 were killed, 35 wounded and paroled, 28 taken prisoner, 13 escaped, and 1 twelve year old was captured and released.
