Bjorn Halvordsen Skeie was born in 1684, in Skeie, Mandal, Vest-Agder, Norway as the son of Halvor Rolfsen Skeie and Anna Knutsdotter Bakke. He married Siri Torjeisdatter Fister in 1711. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 4 daughters. He died in 1741, in his hometown, at the age of 57.

    1n 1700 Norway changed from the Julian Calendar to the Gregorian Calendar. The day after 18 Feb in the Julian Calendar became 1 March in the Gregorian calendar.
