When Karin Jonsdatter was born in 1690, in Steneby, Älvsborg, Sweden, her father, Jons, was 27 and her mother, Mrs. Jons, was 23. She married Tron Olofsson on 11 October 1712. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 3 daughters. She died on 10 February 1758, in her hometown, at the age of 68, and was buried in Steneby, Älvsborg, Sweden.

1700 · The Great Northern War
By 1658, Sweden had become a great power in northern Europe. The Great Northern War from 1700 through 1721 resulted in the loss of land amassed by Sweden in areas such as Germany, Norway, and Denmark. Nearly 200,000 Swedes lost their lives due to the war while Sweden lost much of its dominance in the Baltic Region.
