Brief Life History of Sipa

When Sipa Kaitangata was born about 1736, in Ha'alaufuli, Vava'u, Tonga, his father, Maunga Funoa Fuimaono, was -32 and his mother, Tahi Si'i, was -34. He married 'Emeline Afu about 1763, in Neiafu, Vava'u, Tonga. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 1 daughter. He died about 1800, in his hometown, at the age of 66, and was buried in Hancock, Virginia, United States.

    Name Meaning

    ‘furrow’, personified as the goddess of agriculture and the harvest; the name of the wife of Rama, identified with the goddess Lakshmi, and a symbol of all the wifely virtues: purity, tenderness, and fidelity.
